Herbal Remedies - Hands and Feet Cure

By Jerilee Wei

Seems a whole lot of people are most weary of this season's extra cold winter weather, and certain cold weather herbal remedies, for both feet and hands, might be in order before you head back out into the bitter cold.

Our hands and our feet are subject to the worst of adverse weather conditions. Add other common everyday conditions, and it's certain that our skin if it could talk -, it is also weary of hot water, detergents, chemicals,, and just plain dirt.

Of course, common sense dictates that the best defense is to wear either cotton or rubber gloves, or gardening gloves, on your hands, along with dry warm socks on your feet. An added layer of common sense defense, is to make lavish and frequent use of hand and foot creams.

Why? Herbal Remedy Winter and Dirt Barrier Creams?

Heavy duty barrier creams for the hands and feet, are herbal remedies that really work well for a couple of reasons:

  1. They are healing to hands and feet that have already been damaged by harsh weather or hard dirty work.
  2. They provide a barrier to keep dirt and staining products from getting into the layers of your skin
  3. They provide a barrier to prevent further damage to extremities in harsh weather conditions

Herbal Remedies For Foot Odor

Grama used to call it "Limburger Feet Disease" and Grandpa used to have it on occasion. She probably knew something modern day people forget, that the bacteria that causes smelly feet is very similar to the type of bacteria that ripens limburger cheese into one of the most onery of smelly cheeses.

No bacteria equals no foot odor is the goal. The best way to accomplish that are simple herbal remedies:

  • Witch hazel mixed with peppermint and geranium essential oils
  • Vinegar and grapefruit seed extract
  • Other vinegar soaks
  • Thyme essential oil
  • Over-the-counter natural antiperspirants
  • Silicea
